What is Evolinktion?
Evolinktion will be the world's largest human compiled and maintained reciprocal link exchange network. Every Evolinktion partner's website has been thoroughly reviewed for meaningfulness, relevancy, and various other criteria. Since all websites have been reviewed and judged to be of the highest quality, you are assured that all of your link partners are relevant and consistent with your website patron s' needs.
Why should I care about backlinks?
Let's look at what Google has to say about that:
When a URL is submitted to Google, we're able to look for it in our next crawl. If you've already submitted your URL, your site could easily appear in our search results after our next crawl. However, if no other sites links to yours, it may be difficult for our crawler to find you. The number of other sites that link to your URL is the single biggest factor in determining which sites are indexed by Google, as we find most pages when our robots crawl the web, jumping from page to page via hyperlinks. PageRank interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote for Page B by Page A. PageRank then assesses a page's importance by the number of votes it receives.
PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus giving the linked page greater value. A s you can see, links back to your website from quality and relevant websites are critical to boosting your website's exposure. Evolinktion's intent is to p rovide only relevant and meaningful backlinks to improve your website's p lacement in search engine search results . Though it may take up to 90 days to see a n increase in your page ranking, it will happen.
How does Evolinktion work?
After being registered and meeting Evolinktion's stringent quality measures, all new members will create a directory from their website (by simply copying and pasting Evolinktion's code to their site) instantly creat ing a backlink to your website. As you can imagine, these backlinks quickly add up to hundreds to thousands of quality websites linking directly to yours. Google and other search engines, will index these links, a process that can take up to 90 days or more, and your website's page rank, ranking in search results, and overall traffic will increase as a result of backlinks to your site from our partners.
How do I know that I will have quality link partners?
Every website is reviewed personally once submitted for inclusion. Each website has been ranked on products/services offered, appearance, relevance to Evolinktion partners, and finally, overall utility and layout. No sites that can be construed as illegal, inflamatory or discriminatory, or explicitly adult oriented will ever be accepted to Evolinktion's directory.
Why should I use Evolinktion instead of another link exchange service?
That's for you to decide. I'm not a salesperson, so I won't attempt to make a pitch that you can't refuse. Nor will I guarantee that Evolinktion will catapult your website to a top 10 Page Rank (any service that does this - and there are many - is, to be frank, lying). But I will tell you what I, as Evolinktion, am all about.
I sincerely care about the success of all of our partners. Your success will obviously directly result in Evolinktion's success, as well as the success of all of our link exchange partners.
I will take an active part in your link exchange. I don't believe that this should be an automated process where your link is thrown at another business owner, and vice versa without some form of human interaction. This does not mean that you will actually have to perform any work or physically respond to my emails to you, rather that all links are inspected, approved, compiled, and finally published by me for you.
I feel that Evolinktion is an evolved form of link exchange. Perhaps you will see Evolinktion's practices as a devolution of sorts (deviating from the automated compilation of meaningless, inappropriate, broken, and farm page links and getting back into the process by actually reviewing every single link personally), but it is the best way to ensure only quality, relevant, and significant link exchange between partners. Which in turn will result in higher Google page ranks, more meaningful traffic, and therefore a more successful website.
I'm a business owner much like yourself. I am committed to what I am doing here. I honestly hope to change the link exchange process by making it a simple, lucrative, and significant way to boost your website's success.

GotLinks?
Overview
GotLinks offers a fabulous alternative to Evolinktion. GotLinks is free to join (at the time of publish), has over 2,000 link partners – most of which are of high quality, and boasts an extensive customization process. GotLinks offers a demo (which they seem to be quite proud of), a robust FAQ and help system to persuade visitors to join and to guide and help new and established link partners, and is overall a great service.
I would highly recommend joining GotLinks in addition to Evolinktion. The more links back to your site the better, and using GotLinks in tandem with Evolinktion will exponentially expand your backlinks.
Notes
One thing to keep in mind if you are interested in GotLinks is that you must have PHP/ASP support to join. GotLinks does not support hosting of your link directory. While I am not offering any commentary on this practice, I simply wanted to make you aware of this fact. (The ability to support PHP or ASP is an option that your web host or server should offer – PHP and/or ASP are necessary for advanced scripting and if you are serious about becoming a success online, you will at some time need to add PHP/ASP support to your hosting package or server.)
Not hosting partners' directories is advantageous to GotLinks and its members in many ways. First, it obviously lowers overhead and disk space usage. Second, it forces all GotLinks partners to host their own link directory directly from their website, which is a very good thing. Finally, it allows GotLinks to easily and quickly spider partnered websites to ensure reciprocity.
One thing I found interesting about GotLinks is its claims of manually reviewing partners. Upon registering, one is prompted to create their link directory, and is instantly added to the database. There is no review process, as each partner is added automatically. This is the only striking contradiction I have encountered with GotLinks, though.
Customer Service
I have had no reason to contact GotLinks customer service, as the link directory is stable. I would assume that their customer service is on par with the other Got services, which is acceptable.

Powerlinks
Overview
Powerlinks has been around for over a year and offers a diverse and varying degree of quality link partners. Powerlinks offers a bonus system for new partners who were referred from your link directory/website (Evolinktion will offer this once we're fully live and new link partners will incur a nominal fee – and I do mean nominal – to join. Of course this fee will never apply to you or any other pilot members.), offers a reduced fee for multiple websites, and a decent degree of customization.
Notes
Upon publishing this page, Powerlinks charged $19.95 to join, $9.95 per month, and $4.95/mo. for each additional website. This is not a bad deal considering you will receive over 1,000 (this number varies greatly – see below) partners. I do believe the $20 “set-up” fee to be a bit steep, though. Powerlinks is completely automated, so I do not see how they can justify a set-up fee as they actually do no work upon signing up. Completely automated, which I see as detrimental, not beneficial.
Powerlinks' partners vary wildly in quality. There are some quality PR 5-6 members, but many partners are low-quality, low PR pages that receive little to no traffic and/or updates (browse the sample link page to see for yourself). What this means to you is that you will have many undesirable link partners. Sure, one can opt to utilize Powerlinks' exclusionary filters, but it doesn't make much sense to pay 10 bucks a month for 18 links (or however many partners you find to be of the highest quality). If you do join Powerlinks, I would advise you to be weary of your link partners if your website caters to all demographics, as there exist some very questionable partners in the Powerlinks database.
Powerlinks' database also includes many pages that are simply non-existent and many link farm pages (pages that are nothing more than links to links to links).
I would encourage potential partners to consider Powerlinks as an alternative to, or in tandem with, Evolinktion - albeit a pricey one.

Link Foundry
Overview
Link Foundry is a great link exchange service for the coin, and has a decent amount of customization.
Notes
Link Foundry will eventually charge all new members the same fees as Powerlinks ($19.95 set-up fee, 9.95/mo.), but at the time of publishing this page, joining only costs $2.95/mo. as Link Foundry is still in its infancy, much like Evolinktion, and is trying to grow their link
base.
I would encourage all prospective link partners to at least take a look at Link Foundry's website. I joined when Link Foundry still offered free signup and have nothing to regret. For 2.95/mo. (assuming you are reading this while that fee is still applicable) you receive over 300 partners– not a bad deal at all! Plus, your $2.95/mo. fee will be applicable for the life of your domain, so you will receive even more links for your three bucks as soon as more partners join.
Customer Service
I have had no need to contact Link Foundry's customer service department, but I would assume that it is acceptable as the forum admins/mods seem like great people who *gulp* sincerely care about what they are doing!

Links-Automation
Overview
I'm not so sure about Links-Automation. It's free to join, but there seems to have been little to no activity with Links-Automation in the recent
past.
Notes
Very few link partners – at the time of publication, there were less than 30 partners, ugly (though standard) links page, and a relatively poor website.
I hope the good folks at Links-Automation figure out whether or not they're in the right line of work before too long. Links-Automation could with effort become a viable link exchange service, but it seems that they're apathetic at best.

How long will it be before I start to see results from my backlinks?
This is subjective and varies greatly from search engine to search engine. MSN, Yahoo!, and a couple other of the Big 6 will reference and index your backlinks rather quickly. In particular, MSN, which is built on Inktomi, references and indexes your links much faster than the other search engines in the Big 6 in my experience. Googlebot, on the other hand, takes an extended amount of time to reference and index links back to your site.
In general, it is safe to say that your backlinks will begin to impact your search engine results search page (SERPs) placement and Page Rank within 1-3 months. 1 month being extremely generous (though some backlinks will be indexed sooner than others – it won't be an “all or none” situation where none of your links appear when performing a link search, and then magically all backlinks appear), 3 months being the norm.
How does the banner exchange work?
When you are ready to generate even more traffic to your website, joining the banner exchange network will allow you to generate buzz about your website and to familiarize prospective clients with your brand name and/or logo. By placing a small snippet of code on your website, you are able to have your banner(s) displayed on all link partners' Link Partner Directories, as well as non-link exchange members who have only opted to join the banner exchange.
Your banner(s) will have the same chance of being displayed in the rotation as even the most high-traffic websites. This is why Evolinktion's banner exchange program is superior to others: You no longer have to have a huge amount of traffic to generate traffic! And for those less scrupulous webmasters who participate in other exchanges who utilized auto-refreshing webpages and the like, their deceptive efforts will be moot with our banner exchange.
What if I encounter a problem registering my banners/websites or at any time afterwards?
Your satisfaction and success are our top priorities. Evolinktion's customer care is unbelievably competent, thorough, and sincere. All of our partners learn as much with our first correspondence confirming a website and/or banner. Let's face it, customer care is a lost art these days. At Evolinktion it's alive and well, though!
Can I customize my Link Partner Directory?
If you server or web host supports PHP you are encouraged to customize your link page to resemble the rest of your website. Though the standard format is far superior to other link exchange link pages, we appreciate the amount of time and effort each partner has spent to make their website a work of art, be it aesthetically pleasing or as utilitarian as possible.
How many websites can I submit for free?
As many as you want! We appreciate all submissions, and while some simply do not merit a place in our link exchange for various reasons, we still appreciate the time spent submitting your site. Once Evolinktion is live and the Pilot Database Program has ended, it will be necessary to charge a nominal fee (substantially lower than the competitors) to cover the immense amount of opportunity cost that is necessary to manage an endeavor of this scope. So please submit your websites and banners while it is for free for the life of your domain - this program is nearing its conclusion and we would much rather you join today for free than to have to pay for links back to your site in the future.
